This watch is one of a new trio of Seiko watches which are Presage’s first Cocktail Time pieces with GMT functionality. Seiko Presage Cocktail Time watches are inspired by Japanese cocktail culture and specific drinks from the Star Bar in Tokyo’s sophisticated Ginza area. Blended with Scotch whisky and Drambuie, the ‘Rusty Nail’ balances sweet and spice flavouring with a trace of smokiness and honey finished with a garnish of lemon peel. The GMT hand is inspired by the stem of a cocktail glass, whilst the second hand signifies a cocktail stirrer with its elegant handle. With razor sharp markers, and Dauphine-style hands, this piece has a date feature at 3 o’clock, for added practicality and is accompanied by a brown leather strap. Built to fit the theme of classic sports, this watch takes the essence of the 70s Seiko 5 Sports models and integrates them with modern specifications. Under a semi-spherical glass, the dial features Lumibrite hands and indices, each diamond-cut with finely grooved lines, on a ‘deep black wash’ colour dial. The hands are non-triangular and are wider, to enhance the vintage retro look whilst the orange second hand is inspired by the classic 70s design. With a metal dial ring, the bracelet features striking mirror and hairline finishing. This watch comes from a series reintroducing the popular mid-sized Seiko 5 Sports SKX, brought back following demand from Seiko fans.
